- Register Marks: Pieces of film need to have, Trim Marks & True Center Marks suitable for photo composing.
- Screen Ruling: 150 line screen on all jobs.
- Emulsion: Film must be, right reading, emulsion side down.
- Under-color removal: The maximum 4 color process printed ink density is a total of 285%.
- Film: Each piece of film must be identified clearly as to the color it is to be used for.
- Color Proof: A Chromalin or Match Print type Proof made directly from the film that you are providing us with, is absolutely mandatory.
- Bleed: Trim Marks & Un-trim Marks allowing for as much as an inch bleed.
- Film materials: For dimensional stability, we recommend a film with a thickness of .004 inches up to 36 inches and .007 inches thick if over 36 inches.
- Tints: A 40% cyan underlay is recommended in all areas where the background is solid Black.
- Density: Density in the clear areas of the film should not exceed 0.07 (fog factor). Density in the black solid areas of the film should not be less than 3.80
- Lettering: Print that includes, thin lines, fine serifs and medium or small lettering should be restricted to single colors. Reproduce all reverse lettering with minimum of color; use dominant color for the shape of the letters.
- Trap: Where practical, make lettering in subordinate colors slightly larger for trapping, to reduce fit problems.
